Avonne earned her Bachelor of Nursing Degree at the University of Calgary and currently holds registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.

She has 26 years of nursing experience, mainly as a Public Health Nurse. This career has allowed her to gain knowledge and experience in many areas of health education and health promotion. Whether it was teaching prenatal classes, supporting new parents or acting as site lead for one of Vancouver’s main COVID testing sites, she has found great reward in supporting people to make informed choices for their own individual health and that of their families.
